Position Objectives:

The Town of Middleton is seeking Town of Middleton residents with education and/or experience in accounting and finance, and an interest in learning more about Town financial matters, to serve on its’ Finance Committee.  There is currently one vacancy on the Finance Committee with an initial term expiring on June 30, 2027.

Finance Committee Job Description:

The Finance Committee is an advisory committee that reviews the annual budget and makes recommendations to the Town Board regarding the same and reviews and makes recommendations on the financing of Town undertakings, on the financial affairs of the Town and the improvement of the financial condition of the Town.  The Committee considers and recommends ways in which the Town could obtain additional sources of revenue from policies, investment policies, and purchasing procedures.  The Committee shall counsel and advise the Board on all such matters and any other matters as may be assigned to it by the Town Board in such advisory capacity, for example, advising the Board with respect to making internal control improvements as identified by its’ external auditor or to improve Town efficiency and effectiveness, and regarding significant Town financial decisions, such as correcting or restructuring the Town’s books and accounting procedures.
