Park Commission
This seven member Commission is appointed by the Board for terms of seven years. The Commission makes recommendations to the Town Board regarding recreation programs, park and trail regulation, development and maintenance. They also are the contact point for various sport organizations wishing to provide opportunities to residents, particularly youth, participating in sports events such as Baseball, Soccer and Football.
The Park Commission reviews development plans for the purpose of determine needs for parks and trails within or adjacent to areas being developed. This is done in accordance with the the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. The CORP Plan is redrafted every five years and submitted for approval by the Town Board. The plan receives input from residents via periodic survey for inclusion into the the CORP. The result has been a coordinated effort that has resulted in the Town's wonderful green space, trails and parks/conservancies used by all. The Park Commission usually meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30pm.
